Egypt's old kingdom began around 2600 BCE and lasted until 2300 BCE. During these years Egypt grew and prospered. They built cities and expanded their trade. The Pharaoh and his family lived in a palace.They obeyed the Pharaoh's wishes because they thought he was the son of Re their god of the sun.
