How did the plague impact Work-Force, Catholic Church, Cities, and population?
People were paid more for their services. The catholic church became the #1 most popular influence in that time period. People turned to the church for help. Cities fell apart and the population declined.
3 Plagues that have impacted the world in the last 400 years:
Smallpox
Smallpox was affecting everyone, from the slaves to royalty. It affected most of North America, Asia, and Europe by 1625. It killed nearly 500 million people between 1880-1980. The first vaccination to be created for smallpox was in 1796 by Edward Jenner.
Ebola
Ebola first was found in 2 different places, Nzara and Yambuku. The worst Ebola outbreak is happening today in West Africa. It affects all who come in contact with a sick persons bodily fluids. It can also be transmitted through a person touching an object that had an infected persons blood on it. Many doctors have gotten infected trying to treat their patients.
Spanish Flu(Influenza)
The Spanish Flu(influenza) affected most of North America, South America, the UK, China, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. It spread to the allied countries in WWI through the soldiers sent to Europe. More people died from influenza in a year than the black plague killed in four years! During the 2 years that it scoured the earth, 1/5 of the world's population was infected. Around 40 million people died. Most of the victims were 20-40 years of age.
